Over the course of their career, a professional coach may encounter a client who is so inspired by the results of their coaching engagement that they eventually decide to become a coach, too. This initial decision will be the first of many as they try to determine the areas where their natural skills would be most useful.
Reflect On Your Values, Skills And Purpose
As a coach trainer, people often approach me about becoming a coach. The first step is having a generative conversation with the client to reflect on what draws them to coaching, who they want to serve, and how different types of coaching and audiences align with their values. Next, we look at where their current skills and expertise can be best utilized in the service of their coaching practice. ​
